TikTok Shop Expands to Service Bookings — Hair Salons and Fitness Studios Can List Appointments
TikTok Shop, previously limited to physical products, now supports "Service Listings" in the US and UK. Salons, studios, and groomers can list bookable services that users can purchase directly on TikTok.
TikTok Shop launched a "Services" category allowing local service businesses to list appointment-based offerings. A hair salon can list "Balayage — $180, 3 hours" or a yoga studio can list "10-class pack — $150" as shoppable products. TikTok handles the checkout; businesses receive the booking request and customer details via email and the TikTok Business Center app.
The feature integrates with LIVE shopping sessions — businesses can run a TikTok LIVE and pin a service listing during the broadcast, allowing viewers to book while watching a behind-the-scenes class or a transformation video. Early adopters in the beauty category are reporting 40–60% of their TikTok LIVE viewers clicking on pinned service listings.
TikTok charges a commission on transactions (currently 5% for services in the first 6 months, rising to 8% after). Compared to third-party booking platforms that charge 2–3% per transaction, TikTok is more expensive — but the built-in discovery audience offsets this for businesses acquiring new customers through the platform.
List your top 3 services on TikTok Shop and then do one 20-minute TikTok LIVE per week where you pin the listings. "Flash deal" live sessions — offering 10% off a service for viewers who book during the live — have shown strong conversion. Budget 45 minutes/week for this and measure new customer acquisition over 30 days.
