WhatsApp Business Launches Payment Links for US, UK and Australian Small Businesses
WhatsApp Business now lets you send a payment link directly in a chat. Customers pay without leaving the app — no invoice, no redirect. Works with Stripe and PayPal.
Meta rolled out native payment link generation for WhatsApp Business accounts in the US, UK, and Australia. Business owners can generate a payment link from the WhatsApp Business app in seconds — enter an amount and description, share the link in any chat, and the customer pays via Stripe or PayPal without leaving WhatsApp.
The feature is available in the free WhatsApp Business app (not the API). No monthly fee, no setup cost — Stripe and PayPal charge their standard transaction fees (2.9% + 30¢ for Stripe in the US). There is no additional WhatsApp markup.
For service businesses, this eliminates the awkward "I'll send you an invoice" moment. A dog groomer in Melbourne reported collecting deposits from 12 new clients in a single week after enabling the feature — reducing no-shows by an estimated 60% compared to verbal-only bookings.
Set up WhatsApp Business payment links immediately — it takes 10 minutes. Start using it for deposits (e.g. 25% upfront) when taking new bookings over WhatsApp. Deposits dramatically reduce no-shows and make your schedule more predictable.
