TikTok Creator Marketplace Cuts Minimum Budget to $150 for Local Influencer Campaigns

TikTok lowered the minimum spend for creator collaboration campaigns from $500 to $150, opening micro-influencer partnerships to single-location local businesses for the first time.

TikTok Creator Marketplace, the platform's official tool for finding and paying creators to make branded content, reduced its minimum campaign budget from $500 to $150. This makes it accessible to local businesses that previously couldn't justify the entry cost for a single-location test.

At $150, businesses can commission one video from a micro-influencer (5,000–50,000 followers) in their city. Local micro-influencers with hyper-relevant audiences often outperform large influencers: a food creator with 12,000 local followers promoting your coffee shop will drive more actual customers than a national creator with 500,000 generic followers.

The Creator Marketplace provides analytics on each creator's average views, engagement rate, audience demographics, and location breakdown. For local businesses, filter by creator location (city), audience location (same city), and content category (food/beauty/fitness/pets). A well-matched creator at $150 can generate 10,000–30,000 local views — equivalent to $300–$900 in paid TikTok ad spend.

What this means for your business

Search TikTok Creator Marketplace for creators in your city with 3,000–20,000 followers who post about your category. Look for engagement rate above 5% and audience that's 60%+ in your city. A $150 collaboration with the right local creator can outperform a $500 ad campaign.
