$10 to $120
Midjourney's four paid plans cost between $10 and $120 a month, and only the two top plans include Stealth mode
Basic is limited to about 200 image jobs a month; one job produces four images, so 200 jobs is 800 images.

What Is GPU Time and What Is Relax Mode?
Midjourney charges in GPU time, not in a count of pictures. The FAQ on the pricing page says: "Each Image Prompt usually consumes about one minute of GPU time, and video prompts consume about eight minutes."
Fast hours are the quick lane. Relax mode, offered from Standard, queues jobs behind others and does not use Fast hours. Standard and up list unlimited Relax images, and Pro and Mega add unlimited SD video in Relax.
Using the vendor's rough figures, 15 Fast hours is 900 minutes. That is about 900 image prompts or about 112 video prompts, if every job takes the stated average. This is an assumption derived from "usually about", so real counts vary with settings.
What Is Midjourney and How Does It Work?
Midjourney generates images from text descriptions, and on paid plans also short videos. You describe a scene, get four images back, and then vary or upscale one. Its pricing page also offers an Editor for images you upload. Members work on midjourney.com; the pages opened did not state other platforms, so check the product before buying.
For a local business the main skill is prompt writing and picking a consistent style. Output is a picture, not a finished ad: text such as prices and opening hours is better added in a design tool afterwards. For image work inside general chat assistants, see ChatGPT for small business marketing.
What Can a Small Business Use Midjourney For?
These are possibilities, not results. Midjourney's pages describe images and videos in general. For a local business, ideas include:
Background scenes and concept art for Instagram and Facebook posts.
Mock-ups of a menu board, a coffee cup design or retail packaging before paying a printer.
Mood boards for a salon refit or a studio rebrand.
Short video clips for a social post, on Standard and above.
Seasonal campaign visuals, then text added in a design tool.
Pictures of real people, real products or real premises should come from real photos. AI images can look polished and still misrepresent the product, which matters for a food, grooming or fitness claim. For wider social planning, see the social media management service.
What Would It Cost? A Worked Example
This is an assumption using only published prices. A café wants visuals for a two-month seasonal campaign.

Yearly billing only pays off if the tool is used all year. For other AI subscriptions that charge by credits, compare the Lovable pricing guide, and for a broader view, the complete guide to automating a local business with AI. Because Basic has no Relax mode and a cap of about 200 jobs, an owner who plans to experiment heavily is likely to find Standard the practical starting point. The privacy point below is the usual reason to pay for Pro.
What Are the Rules and Risks?
From Midjourney's pricing page FAQ:
Public by default. "By default every image and video you create can be found on the Explore page." Stealth mode "keeps your images and videos hidden from other members on the website" and is available only on Pro and Mega.
Ownership. "You own all the images and videos you create, even if you decide to cancel your subscription."
Commercial use. "Feel free to use them commercially, with a few exceptions." The page links to the Terms of Service for general commercial terms.
The Terms of Service and help articles on docs.midjourney.com returned a 403 error when opened, so exceptions cannot be listed from the source. A search summary of those pages mentioned a Pro or Mega requirement for larger companies and a broad licence that Midjourney receives over content users create. Treat both as unconfirmed: read the Terms yourself, especially if your business is large. No revenue figure is given here.
Other risks:
Private ideas. Do not make unreleased packaging or a confidential rebrand on a plan with public images.
Likeness. Do not generate real people without their permission.
Claims. A picture of a perfect cut or a finished dish can mislead customers.
Credit sizing. Video uses about eight minutes of GPU time per prompt, so it drains Fast hours faster than images.

Not opened (returned 403 or 404): Midjourney Terms of Service and help articles on docs.midjourney.com, and Canva's pricing page. A search summary of the Midjourney docs was used only to flag topics to check, not as a source of figures. Third-party price articles were used only as leads. The cost example is an assumption.
