How Much Does Bolt.new Cost?

Bolt's pricing page lists four plans.
PlanPriceTokensWhat the page says
Free$01M a month, 300K a dayPublic and private projects, website hosting, unlimited databases, Bolt branding on sites, 10 MB file upload, up to 333K web requests
Pro$25 a month, billed monthlyStarts at 10M a month, no daily limitNo Bolt branding, private site sharing, 100 MB file upload, up to 1M web requests, tokens roll over, custom domains, AI image editing
Teams$30 per member a month, billed monthlyNot specifiedEverything in Pro plus centralized billing, admin controls, sharing within the organization, private NPM registry
EnterpriseCustomNot specifiedSSO, audit logs, compliance support, dedicated account manager
Annual billing is said to "Save up to 28%", but annual prices are not listed on the pricing page.
Bolt's billing article gives two examples: Pro 10M annual at $216 a year ($18 a month) and Pro 26M annual at $540 a year ($45 a month). It notes monthly plans at $50 and $100 in upgrade examples, and says the token amounts in those examples are inconsistent, so higher tiers are not confirmed here.
1M tokens

The Free plan gives 1 million tokens a month, capped at 300,000 a day, so a single day cannot use the whole month

After the daily limit, the support center says you can still edit existing code for free in Code view.

How Do Bolt Tokens Work?

The support center explains that tokens measure the text Bolt reads and writes. Short common words are usually one token, while rarer words can split into several. Bolt uses tokens when it reads, thinks about and builds the project.
Rules from the tokens article:
  • Free tokens reset on the 1st of each calendar month. The 300K daily limit resets each day and does not carry over. Free tokens do not roll over.
  • Paid tokens reset on the renewal date. Unused monthly tokens roll over and stay valid for two months from the start of the billing cycle in which they were received. Older tokens are used first.
  • Cancelling loses all allocated tokens, rollover included, when the billing cycle ends. Resubscribing before they expire restores unexpired rollover tokens.
  • Buying more. Upgrading is called the most cost-effective option. "Reload tokens" is available only on the highest individual monthly Pro plan or any annual Pro plan, and reloaded tokens do not expire. Prices are shown inside the app.
Bolt also warns that asking Bolt to publish uses tokens, while the Publish button does not. The support center has separate pages on using tokens efficiently and managing project context.

What Is Bolt.new and How Does It Work?

Bolt describes itself as a way to "Create stunning apps & websites by chatting with AI." The home page lists websites, apps, slides and prototypes, plus templates such as dashboards, storefronts and portfolios. Its Bolt Cloud backend includes hosting, databases, user authentication, SEO optimization, analytics and custom domains. The page targets marketers, entrepreneurs and agencies, among others.
It works like Lovable and Replit Agent: you describe what you want, it builds, you iterate. The pages opened do not name the frameworks it uses, and they do not describe how to export the code. A version history and GitHub page exists in the support center but was not opened in full.

How Does Hosting Work?

Built-in hosting is included. Per the support center, publishing takes about a minute and the first publish creates a random bolt.host address you can change later. Later edits do not go live until you click Update in the Publish menu.

Custom domainNot availableAvailable, public sites only
Bolt badge"Made in Bolt"Removed

A custom domain can only be used with a public site, so connect it only if you want the page visible to everyone.

What Can a Small Business Use It For?

These are possibilities, not results. Bolt lists websites and prototypes among its outputs. For a local business that might be:
  • A landing page for a new class series at a yoga studio.
  • A menu page with opening hours for a coffee shop.
  • A price list and enquiry form for a barber.
  • A small internal dashboard, such as a daily tasks board.
All of it needs a human to check text, prices and forms. Compare the editor-based route in the Cursor guide, or the options in the AI automation guide.

What Would It Cost? A Worked Example

This is an assumption using only published prices. A barber wants a small site over two months.
LineAssumptionCost
Free planDraft a page within the daily cap$0
Pro, monthly billingTwo months at $25$50
Pro 10M, annual billing12 months, example figure from Bolt's billing article$216
Custom domainNeeds a paid plan; domain price not stated on the pages openedNot stated
The pages give no token count for a typical site, so how long 10 million tokens last cannot be said. Because paid tokens roll over for two months, a slow month does not waste the allowance at once.

What Are the Risks and Limits?

  • Token burn. Long chats and big projects use more tokens; the support center has guidance on keeping context small.
  • Free limits. Bolt branding, a daily cap, public sites on bolt.host and no custom domain.
  • Cancelling. All allocated tokens, including rollover, are lost when the billing cycle ends.
  • Cards only. Pro and Teams accept credit and debit cards only.
  • Review. Test forms and published pages before sharing the link.
This guide did not open Bolt's terms on data use or code ownership, so those are not stated here.
